Jaimee Paniora
Diabetes Educator
Jaimee is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) and Registered Nurse. Prior to completing her nursing degree over 10 years ago, she worked as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She has also lived with Type 1 Diabetes herself for over 25 years. Jaimee enjoys combining her knowledge and experience to help those living with all types of diabetes. Jaimee worked at Perth Children’s Hospital for many years where she was involved in diabetes research, particularly around exercise and diabetes technology. In more recent years since moving back to Queensland, she has also gained experience working with adults with Type 2 Diabetes, and with women before, during and after pregnancy. She has a passion to help reduce risks associated with diabetes through lifestyle change. Jaimee is familiar with all the latest diabetes technologies’ including Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems and Insulin Pump Therapy. She is passionate about helping people manage diabetes and exercise. She truly loves helping those with pre-diabetes reduce their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. Jaimee understands many of the challenges involved in diabetes management and believes everyone’s journey is individual to them. She lives diabetes every day through her own life and through her work. She understands the ups and downs that come with life with diabetes (well beyond the numbers). She will work with you on your goals, ensuring you feel they are achievable and sustainable. Jaimee also understands the importance of involving family/carers in diabetes management, as an educated and understanding support network can be the key to making life that little bit easier. Her passion is to empower, educate and support others living with diabetes.
